la bella regina assassina
She’s a queen
Feminine aura
A hybrid
She’s flora
Mixed in
With fauna
Majestic
Prestigious
Richly adorned
The exquisite
Exterior
Of her form
Is sprawled
In prickly thorns
She’s monolithic
And all the
Kingdoms
Adore her
She receives
Visits from
Foreigners
From those
Living
In villages
Provinces
Cities
Different corners
Of the earth
Even princes
Mystics, pixies
And fauns
Magicians
And sorcerers
All bring gifts
To give her
As honour
She can
Grant wishes
But be warned
For she can
Be vicious
And slaughter
All of your family
Sons, brothers
Sisters
And daughters
A deadly kiss
From her lips
Will send you
On a quick
One-way trip
To the morgue
“A poisonous death”
The verdict
From the coroner
She lives
In the forest
Hidden
But soaks
In the light
That the sun
Emits
In the summer
You can come
And sit
If you wanna
Beneath her
Towering structure
In the cool
Of her shade,
We’ll have
A picnic
For supper
Up come
The blackbirds
Goldfinches
And others
All gathered
Into a cluster
Let’s not
Move an inch
Else they’ll flinch
And then flutter
We sleep
In her quilt
Her leaves
Are the cover
For hours
We silently
Slumber
Till we’re awoken
By rain
It violently
Thunders
We sit there
Cowering under
The quilt
While she
Drinks in
The moisture
When full
She glimmers
Like a pearl
Within an oyster
The water falls
It trickles
Drips to our lap
It tickles
So we snigger
And laugh
After her
Ritual bath
The sun pours
Through her pores
The rays split
And refract
As if through
A prism
Visitors pass
And witness her
Shimmer with
Flashing light
The rain caused
Her leaves
To be lush
So insects
Come crawling
The bees
And the bugs
As they come
We leave
But she speaks
Imparting
A secret to us
We would
Tell you
But we’d be
Guilty
Of breaching
Her trust
Plus
It’d be treason
For she’s a queen
So we must
Not tell you
Ever
We’ll take
The solemn
Mystery
To our graves
Deep in the dust
